Outside my window...are lurking the same clouds that have entombed us for a few weeks now. Doesn't help that I am sick...I am raising the alarm to DEFCON depressing.
From the kitchen....the ubiquitous carrot cake. I love this recipe because it is so simple and healthy. I bake up two on Sundays and they feed us for breakfast 'til Thursday. I am eating it right now, chock full of carrots, cinnamon, raisins, coconut and walnuts. Moist, moist, moist!!!
I am wearing...a Mandarin-inspired silk dress in deep blues, turquoise and butter yellow...it's picture day at school. The dress is old but I hardly wear it so it seems new.

I am thankful for...caffeine-free herbal teas. I am barely able to talk so I have been drinking tea a few times a day in hopes of rectifying that issue.
I'm going...to come home from work and rest. I still feel sick and really can't take any more days off of work.
I am reading...Monsters: History's Most Evil Men and Women by Simon Sebag Montefiore. I am already up to Dr. Mengele (creep)...It is a good book and an interesting history lesson.

I am hearing....the voice inside my head telling me that I need to study my French so I can teach it this summer. The voice is pretty annoying and persistent. I think I might do what it says.
I am hoping...for a few days of sun in a row...I am jonesing to lay out in my bikini!!
A few plans for the rest of the week: continued rest this week so I don't relapse. Rebekah is also still sick...so after school we curl up together and read or play board games and drink hot tea.
