a few of my favourite things
pandemic: the board game

We love spending time together as a family. We go for hikes in the forest, garden together, watch movies and play video games. When our cousin Chris was here, he asked us if we played board games together. Having only one board game, an old beat up copy of "Cranium" collecting dust in the garage, we answered, of course, "No". Now, don't get me wrong, the girls and I often play chess...but that is in a different category, is it not? Chris and his brother gather their families together a couple of times a month and have board game nights and he was amazed to find us completely unaware of this sub-culture. Whilst in Prague, we happened upon a baord game shop and he introduced us to a myriad of the best games money could buy and he pointed out his favourites surprising us completely by telling us had ordered all of his favourites and they would arrive at our home in a couple of weeks. Needless to say, we have been playing a new game each week, savoring the games and the time spent together. This week's game is Pandemic which is a game the players play against the board. An outbreak of 4 diseases has occured and the players' task is to cure and possibly eradicte the diseases before time runs out. We have played it almost every day this week trying to beat it. It is so fun having older girls, even Roxie can totally understand what the game is about and implement her own strategies.

Thank you, Chris, for inspiring us to spend more time together and providing us with the tools to do so!!!
