countdown to summer: 12 days
(Excerpt from the cover of the Camp Coyan brochure)
"Complaining will not be tolerated. Whining and scrunching up your face whilst emitting a braying sound indicating your displeasure must be dispensed with, making room for more pleasant social interactions such as gratitude and cheer. This and more will be examined at Camp Coyan. Counselors at Camp Coyan are standing by ready to introduce your child to a more complimentary way of behaving. Using a time-honored behavior modification stratagem, campers will be transformed from coddled into congenial.
"How?", you may ask. Well, though we cannot reveal all of our secrets (due to police restraining orders), we can tell you this: our success stories have all resulted from good honest hard work. The formula is simple; one complaint garners one extra job. It's straightforward enough to be understood and enforced. We here at Camp Coyan believe in consistency and structure (and withholding of the fruit cup...but that is another story)."
All joking aside, our kids have gotten in a bad habit of complaining about everything and I have been to dumb, lazy or otherwise occupied to notice. I have had it and am pulling out the big guns...fair warning has been dispensed and now is the time of action.
