countdown to summer: 9 days
field trip
Since we won't be going to America this summer (boo hoo) nor will we be going on any real vacation, we have decided to have a field trip every week as part of "Camp Coyan". One of our field trips will be to Chateau Kratochvile. It is inspired by Italian villas and was used by the Rožmberk family as a hunting lodge and getaway. It is so peaceful there with nary a sound save for the peacocks running around. Swans in the moat, the whole shabang, can be found at Kratochvile and only about 20 km from our house.
"The Kratochvíle Chateau is an unequalled construction from the second half of the 16th century in Bohemia. A whimsical stop in the rush of life. It calls on the visitor to find peace and regenerate one‛s spiritual forces. Let us obey this call and reflect about the past tales of passion, and if we understand them, we shall be able to understand ourselves" excerpt from the website
Moat.....Smoat.....Looks like a big swimming pool to me. R&R take your bathing suits and Krista take your SunScreen and a folding chair. Wonder how deep that 'cement pond' is. But no diving board. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteVery cool indeed. Wish I were a camper!
