daybook

february 1
outside my window...cold as to freeze your bones. 7 below on my thermometer. But a festival of wonder when the sun comes out to dance on the rock hard crystallized snow.

I'm listening to...Matisyahu on my new smart phone

I'm wearing...a coral shirt, slim grey trousers, a coral and navy blue floral scarf and silver pumps..

I'm pondering...  “We have nothing of our own but our will. It is the only thing which God has so placed in our own power that we can make an offering of it to Him.”
St John Vianney (The Curé d’Ars – 1786-1859)

Today I give you my plan, my schedule, my will. Do with me what you will, today is the day that you have made...
I am reading..."Eden"...the last of my many zombie-type books with which I was gifted for Christmas...it is okay...lots of typos which bother me and already the author has used the word "bacchanal" three times which also bothers me. This type of word, a really odd word, should be used only once. It stands our so much that if used more often it seems like the author learned a new word and is bent on impressing the readers by using it as often as he can. Thesaurus, anyone? Bueller?

from the kitchen...tagliatelle pasta with a tomato basil mascarpone sauce (thank you Marks and Spencer, broccoli with my special broccoli sauce (mayo, rice wine vinegar and a bit of sugar, and a vanilla cake with coconut frosting.

I am creating...a post office in my classroom so the children can learn about writing and sending letters and how a post office works.

towards rhythm and beauty...the girls and I just started a daily devotional book that will last the entire year. Each morning we meet around the table to pray and recite our memory verse and read from the book.

I am hoping...Roxie wakes up this morning and her rash is gone. She had an angry red rash yesterday over a lot of her body. I am hoping it was a reaction to something she ate or something. Otherwise we will be heading to the doctor today after school. Sigh...

I am praying...for wisdom with my schedule. I feel stretched (this is a life long theme) and I feel like there is so much I want to do or have to do and I don't have time for it. I also have no idea how to say "no".

around the house...super glue. And Japanese miniatures of doughnuts, pastries and office supplies. Artfully being retooled and made into interesting artsy rings. All for charity. Rebekah's youth group is trying to raise money for "Together to Gather" a charity from Townshend school that helps an orphanage in Zambia. (Remember Roxie's song on that CD" That was for the same charity). So Rebekah is making these rings (they are so cute) to sell to raise money. Her desk looks like a bomb went off and her hands are now perpetually covered in super glue. But the results are great!

one of my favourite things...a few moments to myself.

a few plans for the rest of the week...doctor's appointment, make dentist appointment (c'mon Krista, stop being soooo lazy!, dinner with a friend at a cafe in our village which is hosting a Balinese chef (wha?), Bible Study, sleeping in on the weekend, Saturday is Date Day where we take the girls individually out on dates...
