date night
Every Friday night, after Bible study, we head to the next village, called Borek, and do our weekly shopping at Makro.
Makro is Europe's version of Costco, only not so inexpensive. Things are packaged in bulk (not bulk like we are used to but bulk for Europe...for example, at Costco you can buy a package of 10 toothbrushes at a great discount, at Makro the package is of two toothbrushes and they cost roughly the same as they would bought individually). The reason we shop at Makro is that they have things offered from all over the world and at the time we go (usually about 8:30 at night) there is hardly anyone there and Makro has that comforting warehouse feel that Americans love. Also, the sandwiches. I look forward to the sandwiches. There is a small vending machine in Makro, right by the meat section, and within it are the freshest, yummiest sandwiches. We eagerly select our sandwiches...hoping that they still have our favourite and try to wait until we get home to eat them. Simple, cheap date night. Good food and time alone with Dan. That's all I need.
