daybook

april 6

outside my window...a sunrise to die for. Oranges, yellows, purples and pinks. Tired today, but worth a look at the sunrise.
I'm listening to...so many loud birds. Man, they are making a racket! (hee hee, welcome back birds. We missed you).
I'm wearing...a dusty rose sleeveless ruched stretchy top, linen capris and high-heeled taupe slingbacks with big roses on the toes.

I am reading..."Basic Judaism" by Rabbi Milton Steinberg. Written in 1947, this book offers a well rounded overview of the faith of our Jesus, Y'Shua.

from the kitchen...must eat lots of sweet potatoes and clementines before we leave on our trip this Saturday. So they won't go bad. I bought too many....

I am creating....a set of letters to leave with my children while we are gon for 5 days. I want them to open one each evening so that I can speak to them through the words written on the page.

I am hoping...we will one day soon be able to visit our family and friends in America...sigh.
We have decided that we will for sure come to visit America in the summer of 2012. It feels good to have a date!

Our memory verse this week...

Psalm 23

The LORD, the Psalmist's Shepherd.
A Psalm of David.
    1The LORD is my shepherd,
         I shall not want.
    2He makes me lie down in green pastures;
         He leads me beside quiet waters.
    3He restores my soul;
         He guides me in the paths of righteousness
         For His name's sake.
    4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
         I fear no evil, for You are with me;
         Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
    5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
         You have anointed my head with oil;
         My cup overflows.
    6Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
         And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

I am praying...for the strength to change. Lent is coming here, the time of Bright Sadness. A time to feel the heaviness of our human condition and long to be forever changed.
around the house...we bought new hooks so that our paintings would stay up at least the day and a half that we had family visiting. The paintings managed to hang on for the first few hours and then, like a well rehearsed dance, they began popping off onto the floor in unison. We bought some super expensive hooks from Ikea and those fell off as well, taking with them a largish chunk of wall.
one of my favourite things...going to Starbucks once a year. We took John, Carolyn and Steven to the airport on Sunday and there was a Starbucks. I had a Grande Hazelnut Mocha and it was amazing! MAN!!
a few plans for the rest of the week...see tomorrow's post about our upcoming trip for spring break.

a picture thought...
