november 10
outside my window...darkness. The hardest part of the year is upon us. At its worst it will stay dark until 8 am and the sun will set around 3:45pm. Meaning, on work days, I will go to work in the dark and come home in the dark.
I am listening to...my own playlist off itunes. All of my music and no one else's. Perfect for my workouts. Dan helped me put all of my favourite songs on and I am so excited to "Reggae it up".
I am wearing...a purple short-sleeved sweater and a purple and grey plaid short skirt over cable-knit grey tights.
I am grateful for...my job and my students and my co-workers and my friends and my childrens' education at Townshend International School.
I am pondering...ט Teth Psalm119
65 Do good to your servant
according to your word, LORD.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
for I trust your commands.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey your word.
68 You are good, and what you do is good;
teach me your decrees.
69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
I keep your precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
but I delight in your law.
71 It was good for me to be afflicted
so that I might learn your decrees.
72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.
I am reading...The Little House on the Prairie series to the girls. Roxie loves it and Rebekah listens and pretends she hates it but I think she really doesn't mind it.
I am thinking...about how best to lead my children to the well of Living Water. I sometimes (often) miss homeschooling my kids and infusing every aspect of our work with our faith. Things were simpler then.
I am creating...a publishing house in my kindergarten room, complete with a book shop, printer's and writer's nook. Hope to post some pictures next week.
I am learning...how to ask for help. We have always tried to do everything ourselves here so as not to bug anyone. But I have finally hit a wall finding a proper doctor for Bekah and have had to break down and ask for help from a couple of friends. It is not a language barrier but a bureaucracy barrier. I just need an advocate who will head us in the right direction. So far we have been just shuffled around, waiting only to be told we are at the wrong place and should wait over there.
From the kitchen...rice krispie treats...we found marshmallows and generic rice krispies...for the first time in five years!!!
One of my favourite things...Leave it to Beaver. I showed it to the girls on You Tube last night for the first time. It was hilarious!
Calendar for the week...going to the gym, making a doctor's appointment for Bekah, Bible Study group, going out on Saturday with my friend, Martina, catching up on sleep and a pile of emails, enjoying the last mild sunny days before the snow comes.
A picture thought...
Wherefore art thou, Scriffers?
On walkabout, certainly.
Propogating your species, most assuredly.
Come before winter, Scriffers.
