spoken gratitude continued...
On Thursday I received an early birthday present.
Happy Birthday to me!
More than a month early...
Shocked doesn't even begin to express the feeling I had as we were standing at reception. I had come to the gym expecting to pay my fee and enjoy my workout for the week. We had a deal, that I would come with Dan to work out once a week. I was happy that I got to go at least that much. At $12 dollars a visit it was hard to justify more than that. So, imagine my surprise when we got to the front desk and she looked at Dan knowingly and handed me a membership contract to sign. After 8 years, I finally have a membership to a gym and can work out as often as I like! I was, and still am, so excited!
Danny's student who manages the gym had given Dan her employee gym membership benefit for his own membership. Last week she asked Dan how I liked the gym and he told her I was really enjoying my workouts there. She then asked him why he doesn't get me a membership when it would be sooo much cheaper than paying the $12 each week. He asked her how since the membership is extraordinarily expensive and she offered her employee membership to me as well. When I found this out I ran right to her office and gave her a huge hug.
Because of Radka, our whole family can go to the gym together because we can bring the girls for free. We can swim or go to the saunas and we are all working out together. We even went into the salt cave this weekend. The Czechs have an obsession with surrounding themselves with salt. It is like walking barefoot on a salt beach whilst inhaling salty air. It was pretty cool and supposed to be good for your lungs. I don't know why though. There are salt caves all over the city.
I am so thankful for this gift from my husband, our friend Radka, but most of all from God who knows what we need even more than we do. Our family needs this time together, I need to stay fit and healthy and I already see a huge increase in my energy and my positive outlook.
